|| City Palace, Udaipur||
To the city of lakes and the romantic city of Rajasthan, City Palace stands out as one of the most splendid havelis and a perfect wonder. And Elegance of the Mewar dynasty, it is an unmatched symbol of prestige, status, and royalty.
The day we reach Udaipur, we could see the palace from the roof of the hotel, glowing in the dusk of the evening.
Being sure of its attractiveness, we headed the very next day afternoon. The best time to catch the saffron rays over the architecture. The main entrance is on the road towards Jagdish Mandir.
Lots of packages are available – be sure which one you want to visit.
We paid around INR 350 per head for camera and an entry to the museum
Parking is also available in the Palace Complex – subject to tickets
Open from 9:30 a.m to 5:30 P.M
Opened on all days except on Holi
These pieces of information are not fixed as the authorities may change the pricing and others later the day of the visit.
The palace holds many hotels. One would cross them and arrive at the Manek Chowk. From there, the Museum starts. The gate to enter the main Palace is very simple, but once inside, it’s all architectural grandeur everywhere.
One would pass numerous rooms – Badi Mahal, Mor Chowk, Amar Mahal, Palanquines gallery, Zenana Mahal and many more.
I would try to tell about them through pictures.
P.S. Overall, one might require around 3 to 3.5 hours to explore the Palace cum Museum properly, as it is so well maintained and well informed.
Overall I would say City Palace of Udaipur must be in your itinerary for the experience of grandeur and glamour that one gets in visiting the palace.
