Some time at Sarafa

Visit to the Sarafa Bazaar – Indore

Meandering through the delicacies at Sarafa Bazaar of Indore, I realized one thing that there is no fixed time for food cravings to hit you. Foods, especially which are made to tickle your sense of hunger, are obviously the reasons for such cravings. And when you are engulfed among the live counters preparing the place’s best dishes, it is uncontrollable to avoid. But why should one avoid!!

That’s what the vibe of the place suggests. Let yourself loose to the different aromas which your olfactory glands would receive as you pass by each of the shops. Might be you will be surrounded by 30 other people within a place for 10 to stand. Amongst that you will find shopkeepers making space to stand out from the crowd with their special boards and selling at the live counters, people trying to roam and select from the buffet of local specialties, food lovers plunging into the food they bought and few just roaming as a baffled onlooker, being unable to decide on the night’s menu.

I was among the last group of bewildered soul who was completely new to the concept of Night Food Bazaar. Loud voices calling to taste their Pav Bhaji to the corner sweet shops whose front part were totally covered with food lovers, it was a paradise of difference, a place where taste buds could be put to taste, where anyone can forget the conscious way to eat and would like to dive into the irresistible forms of happiness.

Yes, the place defines well that Food equals to Happiness because the jovial energy around the gastronomical extravaganza proves so.

For information, the Sarafa Bazaar is an old market area populated with jewelry shops. At night when the shops get closed, the food bazaar starts at around 9 p.m. and continues till around 12 a.m.

In would suggest everyone to visit the place with your hungriest stomach so that you can savoir on most of the delicacies.

Car parking might be a bit issue in the area, try to park at locations a bit away from the main bazaar area.

And yes I just forgot to mention that while you give a visit, enjoy to your heart’s content, be a foodie (if you are not always), enjoy the aromas, and walk through this heaven of Street Foods at Indore.
